SUS316 Locking Screw Sleeve Corrosion - Resistant , Stainless Steel Threaded Sleeves
Introduction
Wire thread inserts (also known as threaded sleeves, threaded sheaths, steel wire threaded sleeves, threaded wire sleeves, stainless steel threaded sleeves, etc.) are spiral coils precisely formed by a high-strength, high-precision, and smooth-surface cold-rolled diamond-shaped stainless steel wire. It is a high-precision concentric body of internal and external threads that can form standard threads. After the thread is set, a high-precision internal thread that meets international standards can be formed, and its various properties are better than those formed by tapping.
Wire thread inserts are divided into two types: ordinary type and locking type, which can be screwed into threaded holes of metal or non-metal materials to form a standard M with high strength, wear resistance, high temperature resistance, shock resistance, impact resistance, and corrosion resistance. , MJ internal thread, and can disperse the stress, protect the base thread, can fully improve the performance of the screw hole, extend the service life of the parts.
Advantages
Increase connection strength:
It can be used for soft and low-strength alloy materials such as aluminum and magnesium, wood, plastic, rubber and other easily deformable and low-strength materials to avoid slippage, wire loss, and wrong teeth.
Increase the bearing surface:
It can be used for thin parts that require a strong connection but cannot increase the diameter of the screw hole.
Improve connection conditions:
It can be used for the connection and fastening of hard, brittle and fragile materials such as ceramics, bakelite, and glass. Effectively prevent fragmentation.
Durable:
It can be used in parts that are frequently disassembled and installed and screw holes that are frequently rotated to extend its service life.
Anti-rust knot:
It can be used in chemical, aviation, military equipment and other occasions that require high insurance coefficients.
Anti-loosening:
It can be used in aerospace, aviation, military equipment and other occasions that require high insurance coefficients.
Earthquake resistance:
It can be used for instrumentation, precise and valuable power equipment.
For maintenance:
For simple examples, such as diesel engine body, textile parts, various aluminum parts, lathe tool tables, etc. will be scrapped due to damage to a screw hole. As long as it is re-tapped and the screw sleeve is installed, the waste will come back to life.

Installation steps
1. Drilling
According to different specifications, choose the corresponding standard drill bit to drill. The depth of the hole is greater than or equal to the installation depth of the wire thread insert; be careful not to drill the hole into a cone, and the chips do not fall into it. After drilling, the counterbore should not exceed 0.4 pitch depth, because too large counterbore is not conducive to screwing in the wire thread insert.
2. Tapping
Use special taps for wire thread inserts marked with the specified thread specifications for tapping. The length of the tapping must exceed the length of the wire thread insert. For through holes, all taps must be tapped; the accuracy of the tapping determines the tolerance zone of the final standard internal screw hole. The user should choose the tapping method and lubrication appropriately, and the blind hole tapping should be applied with appropriate force to prevent the tap from breaking. After tapping, the threaded holes should be cleaned. Generally, a compressed air spray gun should be used. For blind holes, a long spray gun with radial holes should be used to clean from bottom to top. The threaded holes can also be cleaned by cleaning. When the precision of the threaded hole is high, use a special wire thread insert bottom hole plug gauge for inspection.
3. Installation
Under normal circumstances, the manual installer is used to install the wire thread insert. Put the wire thread insert into the installation tool, insert the mounting handle into the guide rod groove and turn the handle of the installation tool to screw the wire thread insert into the screw hole, and leave 0.25-0.75 circles of empty thread away from the surface. When installing a small amount of wire thread inserts and when installing coarse thread thread inserts above M14×2, you can use "T" type slotting or threaded head simple tools to install, and be careful not to apply a large axial force on the wire thread insert mounting handle To prevent "random deduction". After the wire thread insert is installed, in order to check the accuracy grade of the formed standard internal threaded hole, the corresponding grade plug gauge can be used for inspection.
4. Remove the handle
For wire threaded sleeves with broken grooves, the mounting handle should be removed after screwing into the screw hole, and a handle removal tool is required. In the case of through holes, the wire thread insert mounting handle should be broken. Generally, use a punch to align the mounting handle and use a hammer of about 200g to remove it. For coarse thread wire thread inserts above M18×2.5 and M14×1.25 The above fine-tooth steel wire thread inserts can be broken by bending the mounting handle up and down with needle-nose pliers. Then remove the broken mounting handle from the screw hole.
Note: If you use an automatic breaker, you only need to use the punch of the automatic breaker to press the wire thread sleeve installed in the bottom hole with appropriate force to break the installation handle.
5. Disassembly
Extend the tip of the remover into the hole of the wire sleeve, press the handle firmly, and turn it counterclockwise to remove the wire sleeve.
